EICTA (European Information & Communications Technology Industry Association) is dedicated to improving the business environment for the European information and communications technology and consumer electronics (ICT and CE) sector, and to promoting the industry’s contribution to economic growth and social progress in the European Union. The organisation is based in Brussels.
The WiMAX Forum™ is working to facilitate the deployment of broadband wireless networks based on the IEEE 802.16 and ETSI HiperMAN standards by ensuring the compatibility and interoperability of broadband wireless equipment. The Forum is a nonprofit association formed in June of 2001 to promote the adoption of IEEE 802.16 compliant equipment by operators of broadband wireless access systems.
The WiMAX Forum is the only organization bringing compliance and interoperability to the wireless broadband industry with its testing and certification program, WiMAX Forum Certified™.
OMA's (Open Mobile Alliance) mission is to facilitate global user adoption of mobile data services by specifying market driven mobile service enablers that ensure service interoperability across devices, geographies, service providers, operators, and networks, while allowing businesses to compete through innovation and differentiation.
Dimes Association (Digital Media Service Innovations) collects ICT players in Finland for joint effort to utilize the results of R&D work for the deployment new services benefiting the national economy. It also cooperates with the Finnish innovation organizations forming an effectively operating network which can represent the Finnish national actors in activities towards European Union technology opportunities.
The Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG) is a privately held, not-for-profit trade association. The SIG is composed of over 7,000 member companies that are leaders in the telecommunications, computing, automotive, music, apparel, industrial automation, and network industries. SIG members drive the development of Bluetooth wireless technology, and implement and market the technology in their products varying from mobile phones to printers.
KOTEL organizes and funds the research projects in the electronics industry, with an emphasis on the current challenges. Kotel facilitates taking part in research and development projects as a group, and not as single actors thus decreasing the costs of research and development for its members.
