Elcoteq moved into Asia-Pacific in the late 1990’s. The increasing market demand of wireless communication product Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) and Original Design Manufacturing (ODM) services was a key trigger to this move. The improving infrastructure, favorable governmental policies and flexible labor supply have benefited Elcoteq and many others in their expansion.
In Asia-Pacific region Elcoteq has altogether 4 volume plants, an NPI center and sales and technical support centers in China, India, South Korea and Japan. The APAC Geographical Area headquarters is located in Hong Kong. The total area of working floor is 57,800 m2 and more than 7,000 employees are working for the company mainly in China and India. The Asia-Pacific region has rapidly become one of the key areas for Elcoteq.
