Elcoteq Hungary Ltd started its operations in Pécs back in 1998. Its plant represented the state-of-the-art in the European electronics industry. Upon the completion of the greenfield investment project, production was started in a floor area of 11,000 m². In January 2000, the company doubled its production volume by acquiring Nokia’s former monitor factory in Pécs. The company grew once again in 2006 by opening the Cserkút Plant. Production activity in Hungary occupies a total area of 200,000 m2, of which 50,000 m2 is used for manufacturing. Elcoteq Hungary Ltd currently has about 6,500 employees.

At our three plants in Baranya County, we manufacture terminal products for communications technology customers, as well as telecommunications network products. In accordance with our quality policy, we ensure customer satisfaction by understanding our customers’ needs and engaging in continuous improvement. Moreover, we provide flawless, competitively priced products and services – and do so on time. Our Integrated Management System is based on the standards ISO 9001:2000 and ISO/TS 16949:2000.

Remaining constant to our strategy, we aim to expand the range of services offered by our Pécs unit, too. Our first step was to establish an Engineering Service Center there to meet our customers’ needs even better. It opened on 1 October 2003.

Elcoteq Hungary Ltd is the largest employer in the industrial sector in both the city of Pécs and the Baranya region. The company is aware of its responsibilities and importance in the region. It concluded a long-term agreement with the Municipality of Pécs to provide several tens of million HUF to sponsor local culture and sports.
