10th Anniversary of Elcoteq Hungary Ltd.
We had the pleasure to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Elcoteq Hungary Ltd. in Pécs on Wednesday, the 17th of September. The celebration started in the National Theatre of Pécs with welcoming words from Jouni Hartikainen, president and CEO of the company, the Minister of Social Affairs and Labour, and Tasnádi Péter, the mayor of Pécs. They all expressed their congratulations on the success and the continuous growth of the company in Pécs, and wished all their best for the future operations.
The manufacturing operations of Elcoteq was set up in 1998 with 212 employees, and since then the number has grown to 6500 employees in the past ten years, and with this it has become the largest industrial employer of the region. Elcoteq Hungary Ltd’s production activity in Hungary is on 3 plants occupying a total area of 200,000 m2.
The Gala program continued with a broad variety of programs: Finnish and Hungarian songs, operetta songs, ballett and folk dances. Among the invitees were politicians, business partners, corporate management members, the large management team, the press, and Elcoteqians, who have been devotedly working for the past 10 years at the company.
The celebration continued in the Bartók Hall of the Palatinus Hotel where the Philharmonic Orchestra of Pécs was awaiting the guests. Prior the dinner Hannu Hautala introduced the new General Manager, Lajos Gódány who started his work on the 15th of September. The dinner was an exquisite goose liver soused in Rosé; roasted venison filet with frizzled boletus mushroom, peach, chestnut, and polenta with pumpkin seed; mellow Blue Cheese, Brie with grapes and walnuts; black currant mousse in chocolate burr with red berry forest fruits. The award-winning wines were provided from two wineries in the Villány region. During the dessert wine songs were performed by a local ensemble.
